Lancashire business woman bids to make winning pitch

Have your say

A Lancashire-based business woman aims to have a GREAT impact on Virgin Boss Sir Richard Branson.

Jane Lowe, of Business Room 52, is hoping to pitch to Sir Richard in London as part of the Pitch to Rich contest.

Jane, who is based in Preston, trains women in business and leadership.

She was inspired to enter the competition after reading that the UK is currently ranked only 26th out of 142 countries in the world for gender equality societies.

The Pitch to Rich competition is open to businesses and entrepreneurs across the UK. Sir Richard is offering a prize fund worth over £1 million and the chance to go to London to pitch ideas live to him and his panel of judges on June 26.

There are three categories: Start Up, Grow and New Things. Business Room 52 has entered the New Things Category with a new, funky and vibrant GREAT Training Collection.

Jane said: “We hope that by getting involved with the Virgin Group, we can be successful in attracting strong ambassadors and champions (both women and men) to get involved with supporting the UK to become world class leaders in gender equality by having a more balanced and equal place workforce.”
