Lancashire agency sale will lead to growth

Lancashire-based creative digital marketing agency Fat Media has been aquired by entrepreneur David Durnford.

As part of the deal, Kendal-based digital agency Motive Technology, also owned by David, is set to be rebranded as Fat Media.

The move which will see the two successful companies joining forces to form one of the largest digital marketing agencies in the North of England.

Lancaster-based Fat Media, which has further offices in Barrow and London, currently employs 68 specialists across an array of digital, marketing and technical disciplines. It will now expand to employ over 90 following the acquisition.

The acquisition marks an exciting time for the agency, who earlier this month also picked up a Highly Commended award in the Large Digital Agency category at the coveted Prolific North Awards, held in Manchester.

Fat Media works with a host of iconic local brands across the North West including Warburtons, St Helen’s Rugby League club, Blackpool Winter Gardens and Lakeland as well as national and international clients in the shape of Servisair, Glaxo SmithKline and Mitsubishi.

The company has also worked on projects for many Lancashire businesses over the years and can count Dennison Trailers, Morecambe Football Club, J Atkinson & Co, Lancaster Chamber of Commerce and Lancaster Castle among its recent clients.
