Up to 286 management jobs are to be lost in Lancashire as part of cuts at BAE Systems.

As reported in the Evening Post in August, the Military Air and Information division has been looking to reduce the number of executive posts at its Warton, Samlesbury and 24 other sites across the country.

The company said today the cuts were due to “the organisation’s continuous drive for efficiency.”

Chris Boardman, Managing Director of BAE Systems MAI, commented: “We understand that this is a time of uncertainty for our employees and we are committed to working with them and their representatives to explore ways of avoiding and mitigating potential job losses.”
