The B&Q store at Bamber Bridge will not be halved in size after all, the company has announced.
There had been plans to divide the Craven Drive store in two, with half remaining B&Q and the other half being used for a new Morrisons.
Planning permission for this was granted last year and it was said at the time that the move would create 300 new jobs.
However the company has now announced that plan has been scrapped, and the store will remain at its current size.
Scott Sharp, Divisional Director North, B&Q, said: “We are committed to offering our Bamber Bridge customers the best that we can in home improvement.
“By retaining a large store on the present site, we will be better able to help our customers to improve and enjoy their homes. We are delighted to be able to give our Bamber Bridge customers the certainty of our commitment to this store and the prospect of a new look store with enhanced ranges and services in the coming years.”
