Business as usual at Preston's Fives bar despite bailiff visit

A Preston city centre cocktail lounge and bar remains open as usual despite a visit from bailiffs yesterday.

Bailiffs visited Fives bar in Guildhall Street after changes were made to its lease.

Notices were placed on the front of the building by Direct Collection Bailiffs Limited and they advised staff to contact the bailiffs for more information.

The notice advised: "Under the terms and conditions of your lease we, as authorised agents acting on behalf of the Landlord, have this day entered these premises and the lease is hereby determined.

"Any attempt by you or your agents to enter the demised premises will result in criminal / civil proceedings being instigated against you."

The Grade II listed building was bought by Guild Hall owner and Preston entrepreneur Simon Rigby in November 2016 and it was let to Shaun Patchett, a London-based operator.

Staff declined to comment when approached by the Post.
