Children from schools across the county wowed the crowds as they showed off their best moves on the stage of Preston’s Guild Hall.
Over 600 pupils performed in the Lancashire Schools Dance Festival and interpreted themes such as war, sport and weather.
Glenn Swindlehurst, head of Outdoor Education at Lancashire County Council, said: “This was the twelfth annual event.
“The theme was ‘News: Dance All About It’ and the children did a great job at performing the different themes.” Pupils from 26 schools from across the county took part in the dancing spectacular, while a team of “brilliant” backstage helpers, who Glenn says were “amazing and hard-working”, helped keep things running smoothly behind the scenes.
Rachel Howarth, headteacher at Carleton Green Primary in Poulton-Le-Fylde, said: ““The children truly enjoyed the whole experience and treasure the memories made. We the staff were truly overwhelmed with the reception and atmosphere which was truly memorable.”
Chairman of Lancashire County Council, Margaret Brindle, said the show was “fantastic”, adding: “The children were absolutely outstanding in their performances.”
Cathryn Wilkinson, headteacher at SS Mary & Michael Catholic Primary School in Garstang, added: “The children were all buzzing and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.”
