Green-fingered residents have a chance to secure a share of a £15,000 grant scheme.

Adactus Housing Group is offering £500 grants to 30 individuals, community or residents’ groups and gardening clubs.

The money will be given for green ideas to improve the environment, save energy or recycle.

They could include cleaning up an area, creating a wildlife garden, buying energy saving equipment or community food growing projects.

Chris Richardson, community engagement manager at Chorley Community Housing, part of Adactus Housing Group, said: “The Green Grants scheme offers an exciting opportunity to the many Adactus Group residents who care for their local environment, and can help to launch new projects, as well as supporting projects that are already established.

“We urge anyone who has an idea to get in touch as soon as possible.”
