A Lancashire band are polishing up their instruments after qualifying for the finals of the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain.
The Freckleton Band will represent the Fylde coast in Cheltenham after coming second in the regional finals at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens, seeing off over 50 bands competing throughout the day.
Valerie Hodgson spokesperson for the band said: “The band qualifying for the finals for the second time in three years is absolutely fantastic for the players, supporters and Freckleton village as a whole from where we receive tremendous support.
“The promotion to the Championship section is the iceing on the cake and will bring exciting new challenges for all the players”.
The band will now have a busy few months including a performance at Kirkham Grammar School May 2 where they will be joined by student, soloist Elliott Gaston - Ross.
