Police are seeking a man who walked into a village post office and helped himself to beer and alcopops before calmly walking out without paying.

Officers have issued a CCTV image of the thief who raided the shop in Liverpool Old Road, Walmer Bridge near Preston two days before Christmas.

The man, wearing jeans, a sleeveless dark top and a green polo shirt, has so far evaded capture for almost three months after the theft at around 9.30pm on December 23.

PC Kieran Helps, investigating, said: “The male entered the store, walked over to the alcohol aisle and stole a case of Stella lager, a bottle of Heineken Lager and a bottle of WKD, total value of £13.68.

“We are hoping members of the public can help identify the man in the images, who we want to speak to in relation to the theft.”

Anyone with any information about the theft should contact police on 101 or phone Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. They can also give details on-line at
