Police officers are appealing for witnesses after a vulnerable woman was burgled by conmen in Penwortham, near Preston.

The incident happened at around 6pm on Thursday November 27 on Broadfield Drive, Penwortham.

It is believed two men entered the house claiming to be checking the water pressure saying that work nearby had caused problems with the supply.

While she was distracted, they rifled through her possessions making off with around £5,000 in cash.

The two men are described as white, one aged in his 20s and the other in his 30s. Both were wearing dark clothing and hats.
