A body has been found during the search of a missing 23-year-old man in Preston

Following a report by a member of the public, the body of a man was recovered near to the swing bridge at the Docks on Maritime Way.

Whilst the man has yet to be formally identified, officers believe it to be missing Siddharth Murkumbi . Lancashire Police said his family have been informed.

Siddharth, from Preston, was last heard from at around 8.30pm on Sunday, March 15.

Known as Sid to family and friends, the 23-year-old had moved 5,000 miles from India to Preston in June 2019 to take an MBA in Marketing Studies at UCLAN.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: "We'd like to say a huge thanks to everyone who responded to our previous appeal in our search to find Siddharth. Our thoughts very much remain with his family and friends at this very sad time."
