A biker who died after a crash has been named by police.

John Dalton, 20, died following a collision on Wednesday, and his family has paid tribute to a “loving son and brother”.

In a statement, his family said: “There are no words to describe the pain and devastation we feel as a family.

“John Francis Dalton was a loving son and brother, with his whole life ahead of him.

“He was full of life and enthusiasm and always made us laugh.

“He was warm and kind hearted and liked by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

“We want to thank everyone for their kind words of support at this difficult time and we would also wish to thank the police and paramedics, including an off duty doctor who was driving behind the accident, for all their help trying to save John at the scene that night .

“This tragic accident has left a hole in the heart of our family that can never be filled.”

Police were called to Course Lane in Newburgh at about 10.15pm on Wednesday following reports of an accident.

The motorcyclist was found with multiple injuries close to Tawd Vale campsite.

Officers believe he had been riding a Yamaha motorbike eastbound on Course Lane, when the vehicle collided with a Man lorry travelling in the opposite direction.

Mr Dalton, from Standish, was treated by paramedics but later pronounced dead.
