Biker injured in crash on Heysham Road

A moped rider suffered leg injuries after a crash on Heysham Road.

Police said they were called at 4.25pm on Sunday after reports a car and a motorbike had collided.

A silver Renault Laguna and a red Aprilia RX50 were involved in the crash.

The bike rider was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to hospital with leg injuries.

The driver of the Renault was not injured.

Heysham Road was shut for half an hour whilst investigations were carried out.
