A “massive thank you” has gone out to stallholders and visitors who battled through the wind and rain to attend the Penwortham Christmas Market.
Steve Caswell, town manager for the town council, paid tribute to those who had been battered by the elements on Wednesday but still turned out to support the annual event.
He said: “Despite the wind, the rain and the hail, our stallholders still managed to put on a great Christmas market.
“We’re very lucky in Penwortham to have a fantastic community who support everything that goes on in the area, and we were amazed by the turnout.
“There were a few stallholders who couldn’t set up because of the conditions, but all in all we had a really good night.”
