An avid Preston North End fan managed to bag free Wembley tickets for his whole office - bought by generous company bosses.
Buoyed by North End’s play-off semi-final victory over Chesterfield, Russell Collinson asked his employers, boiler insurance firm HomeServe, if they would be doing anything to celebrate North End’s achievement.
After giving free tickets and travel to Walsall fans at their Walsall-based office for the Johnston Paint Trophy Final at Wembley, HomeServe’s top dogs turned around and offered 50 tickets and free coach travel to PNE fans at their Preston office for this Sunday’s League One play-off final.
And 38-year-old Russell, from Preston, is thrilled.
He said: “It is absolutely fantastic.
“I came into work after the Chesterfield game and I went on the work social page and celebrated our victory saying ‘Come on you Whites!’

“It has all steamrollered on the back of that and the company came up with this.
“It is absolutely magnificent. What other company would do something like this for their employees?
“They are even letting us take our children down on the coach too. I’m over the moon.”
Now it is up to season ticket holder Russell and fellow lifelong North End fan 53-year-old Duncan Turner from Preston to decide who gets to go to Wembley.
Duncan praised Russell for asking bosses to back the team.
He said: “It is great. We weren’t expecting anything. They did the same for our colleagues in Walsall.
“Russell asked the question and the rest is history. The whole office is decked out in white and blue. I’d like to say a great big thank-you to HomeServe.”
