Big cannabis farm discovered in town centre

A mass cannabis farm hidden in Chorley town centre has been unearthed by police.

Lancashire police have seized 120 cannabis plants after they discovered the drug factory in an upstairs flat on St George’s Street, Chorley on Tuesday January 26.

The police executed a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 to search the property at around 5.30pm and discovered the mass haul in two bedrooms.

A 34-year-old man from Preston and a 54-year-old man from Preston were arrested on suspicion of producing a class B drug but both men have since been bailed until April 21.

A spokesperson for Chorley police said: “A search warrant was executed at an address on St. George’s St Chorley town centre where 2 rooms full of cannabis plants were discovered.

Over 100 plants were seized along with growing equipment and 2 men arrested have now been released on bail whilst further enquiries are made.”
