The TV star was supposed to be watching talent wannabes in Manchester but had to leave it to fellow judges DAVID WALLIAMS, ALESHA DIXON and AMANDA HOLDEN after falling ill, reported Metro.

David wasted no time in teasing Simon, tweeting: “Apparently we are starting BGT auditions without my Simon today. He isn’t well. I wish I could be there to nurse him or give him a bed-bath.”

Simon rejoined the group in the evening, when he was feeling better.

ROBBIE WILLIAMS has revealed his friendship with OASIS was short-lived because he wasn’t “mod” enough.

The Candy singer was friends with NOEL and LIAM GALLAGHER in the 1990s, but their relationship soon ran its course.

Robbie explained he wasn’t really the band’s “cup of tea”, reported The Sun.

He said: “I love Oasis. I was a big fan of their music, vibe and energy.

“I happened to know them and knock about with them for a little while. I don’t think I was their cup of tea.

“At the time I think the exact words were, ‘I’m not mod’, so I was sort of mates with them for a bit, then I didn’t gel with them, so we stopped hanging out, simple as that.”
