All the extra calories consumed on Christmas Day were burned off as 320 runners took part in the annual Boxing Day 10k in Leyland.
First across the line was Richard Burney, from Liverpool Harriers, who completed the course around Worden Park in just 33 minutes and three seconds, with Gary Pennington, from Preston Harriers, and Nick Leigh, of Horwich RMI Harriers, coming in second and third with times of 33 minutes, 25 seconds and 33 minutes, 55 seconds respectively.
Louise Blizzard, from Belgrave Harriers, was the fastest woman to cross the line, in a time of 39 minutes and 11 seconds.
Race organiser Steve Ashcroft said: “The race went fantastically.
“It had more runners than we have ever had in the past 30 years or so of the race taking place at various places in Leyland.
“Thankfully the weather wasn’t too bad and the snow held off until later on in the day.”
