Crews from Leyland station were called to the car, in Bannister Drive, Leyland, after reports the baby had become accidentally trapped inside, at around 2.30pm.

A service spokesman said: “We used specialist equipment to get into the vehicle and unlock the car with the baby inside it.”

He warned people to make sure they are being mindful that they have their keys when shutting car doors - especially at this time of year, due to the heat.
