Attacker bites off man’s ear

POLICE are trying to trace witnesses after a man had part of his ear bitten off in the early hours of this morning in Preston.

The incident happened at around 4.15am on Fishergate.

The victim, a 25 year old local man, walking with a family member when he tried to intervene in an on–going scuffle.

One of the males involved attacked him hitting, him several times to the face before biting off part of his ear.

The victim lost a lot of blood at the scene before being taken to Royal Preston Hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.

DC Justin Singleton, of Preston CID, said: “This appears to be a vicious and nasty attack and I urge anyone with any information at all to come forward. We are obviously very keen for the males responsible to get in touch.”

The attacker is described as white wearing a white top.
