Her shave was done by Declan Parkinson, owner of Declan’s Barbershop, in Ashton.

The 27-year-old, who works for Leyland Trucks, said: “I first decided to grow my hair when I went travelling, but a few months in I learnt about the charity The Little Princess Trust, which takes donated hair and turns it into wigs for women under 25 who have lost their hair from various illnesses for free.

“I then decided to grow it for a full two years and donate it as I believe going through such difficult physical illnesses also would have an affect on a person’s mental health, and if I can make someone’s struggle even slightly better then two years would be worth it.”
