£2k reward for fugitive

A reward of £2,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest of fugitive Alan Brogan who has been on the run from prison in Lancashire for almost five months.

The 30-year-old absconded from Kirkham Open Prison on October 7 where he was serving a sentence for three counts of aggravated burglary, three counts of wounding with intent and also for robbery.

In September of 2008 Brogan and another man went on the rampage in Preston where they stormed their way into houses armed with axes and knives, attacking and assaulting the occupants.

In July 2009 he was jailed for eight years and given a further eight year sentence in 2010 to run alongside his original order for the unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Crimestoppers is now offering a reward of up to £2,000 for information leading to the arrest of Brogan.

Gary Murray, north west regional manager for Crimestoppers, said: “Brogan has been on the run for over four months and he must be located to serve the rest of his long sentence.

“The public is advised not to approach him if they see him, and in an emergency always call the police.”
