Appeals for witnesses after Preston assault

Police are appealing for witnesses after an assault in Preston.

Officers were called to reports a man had been hit to the head, arm and back with a metal baton on Butler Place, Deepdale on Wednesday, May 16 at about 1pm.

Two offenders, who were wearing dark clothing and balaclavas, approached the victim as he was exiting his vehicle.

After assaulting him, they left in the direction of Lovat Road.

The victim, a man in his 20s, suffered an injury to his head and several other minor injuries.

PC Benjamin Gomer of Preston Police, said: “We believe the man was hit several times.

“It has been a nasty attack causing injury, which could have been much more serious.

“We are treating it as an isolated incident but are committed to tracing those responsible.

“I’d appeal to anyone with information, or who saw anything suspicious in the area, to speak to police immediately.”
