Appeal to trace driver after 12-year-old girl hit by car in Morecambe

Police are trying to trace the driver of a car that was involved in a collision with a schoolgirl in Morecambe.

The accident happened at 8am on Monday January 11 when the 12-year-old girl was crossing Hillsea Avenue.

As she crossed the road, a white Nissan Qashqai is thought to have clipped her leg, bruising it.

The vehicle stopped briefly before driving off without leaving any details.

PC Martin Wilcock from the Road Policing Unit said: “I would appeal to anyone who witnessed this collision or has any information about the driver to get in touch with us. Similarly, if the driver of the Qashqai sees this appeal, I would urge them to make contact.”
