Police are investigating a break-in at a school.

They were called at 6.45pm yesterday after a brick was thrown through a glass pane in the entrance door at Mayfield School, on Gloucester Road in Chorley.

Nothing was stolen and two men were seen running away.

Rachel Kay, headteacher at Mayfield School, said: “It is disappointing that anyone would want to break into our school but we were fortunate in that nothing was taken and there was limited damage.

“We reported the incident to the police who are now looking into it.”

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the police on 101, quoting log number 1344 on September 29.
