AFC Fylde’s £18m Mill Farm Sports Village development is moving on apace as the countdown continues to the club’s move to its plush new home at Wesham.
Floodlight masts towering over the East Stand are among the latest features to be installed and dominate the skyline.
The steel framework of the stand has been completed and now awaits terracing, due to be started imminently.
In the West Stand, the concrete flooring on the second floor and first floor is complete and the ground floor is expected to be within the next few days. The walls have also started to go up on the first floor, while the terracing at the front of the stand is also well on the way to completion
Mill Farm chief executive David Chell said: “We are delighted that work is full steam ahead and is on course for completion on time in the summer.
“There are great things happening at the club and anyone who has seen the development will agree it is looking fantastic. It is incredible how quickly the stadium has risen up from the ground.
“We are very excited about unveiling the stadium and a host of bars and restaurants that will be housed within. We will also be offering matchday hospitality to rival some of the top clubs in the country.
“Construction work continued right up until Christmas and they were back in first thing on Monday morning to get things back underway this new year.
“We will be looking to recruit new staff in the near future so it’s an exciting time to be involved with the club.”
Along with a 6,000-capacity new home for the Conference North club, the Sports Village will include a 290-capacity sports bar, an 80-seat restaurant with roof terrace, a 40-seat café, conference and event facilities across nine rooms and five- and seven-a-side pitches.
