Singing sensation Adele has treated her granny to a luxurious caravan – which was made right here in Lancashire.

The superstar, who added another award to her collection at this weeks Grammy’s in LA, bought the £24,000 towing caravan for her grandma Doreen Adkins’ 70th birthday.

And the Delta RS is one of Lancashire-based Lunar Caravans most popular models.

The company, based in Lostock Hall, near Preston, is delighted that the Skyfall singer, whose hits include Rolling in the Deep, chose their firm to buy the caravan.

Lea Lawrence, marketing manager at Lunar Caravans, said: “Adele bought a Delta RS and that’s one of our twin axel caravans, it is one of our biggest models.

“It is really luxurious and really well equipped. It is just over £24,000. It is our most luxurious caravan, there’s lots of room for catching up with family.

“Our Clubman and Delta are our top range, that’s the best selling range.”

Lea added: “We were really pleased that she chose our Della RS as a 70th birthday present for her grandma.

“It really is home from home.

“It was so great to hear, it is always nice when someone as successful as Adele chooses your product over any other on the market. She is British and our product is British. We are really proud of our product. We have had people work here for the full 40 odd years and we all take pride in our product.

“As soon as we heard we thought ‘that is amazing’.”

The firm doesn’t know where in the country the caravan was bought but are thrilled and say it is the first time, to their knowledge, that a celeb has bought one of their products. The interior length of the caravan is six metres and it is just over two metres wide. Lea added: “It’s a real Lancashire product.”

Locally the caravan is stocked at Campbells in Watkin Lane, Lostock Hall.

One of Doreen’s neighbours from Tottenham, north London, told the Daily Star newspaper: “She was over the moon. [She] loves spending weekends at her local caravan park in Essex with her dog, and Adele often visits - even now she’s an international star.

“It might seem weird for Adele to be going from the Oscars in LA to a caravan park near Clacton-on-Sea, but she loves it. The two of them walk the dog together and catch up.

“Adele likes to makes sure her gran wants for nothing. She has always been very down to earth and her huge success hasn’t changed her one bit.”
