It was their dream wedding which was simple, stylish and fun.

Huge horse racing fans, the couple themed their big day around the sport.

Tables at the reception were named after racecourses, betting slips were handed out for the Grand National as favours and horse shoes decorated the candalabras.

Shanae and Pietro, who are both 27 met in 2013 through mutual friends.

At the time, Pietro was serving in the Royal Marines and Shanae was still at university studying to be teacher.

Their first official date was at Salvatores in Penwortham.

Two years later, they bought a house together and Pietro proposed on Christmas Day 2015.

Shanae said: “He played my favourite song, Paulo Nutini’s Better Man, and handed me a card which said ‘to my future wife’.

“As I looked at him he got down on one knee and told me how much he loved me and wanted me to be his wife.”

Their wedding day was hosted by DJ Chris Cooper who brought a fun element to the whole day.

Shanae said: “The announcement of the bride and groom into the wedding breakfast is one of our favorite memories of the day.

“Chris announced us into the room as Mr and Mrs Baron whilst the guests created a drum roll on their tables.

“We entered dancing to the song Shots! by LMFAO as we are known as the couple who will make you drink shots on a night out!

“And when we reached the top table our favorite shot, a Jagerbomb, was waiting for us.”

The celebrations continued well into the early hours.

The newlyweds danced their first dance to the song which played when Pietro proposed.

And Pietro said: “I would do it all again in a ‘shot’!”
