You deserve a break at The Coffee Shop

With a name like The Coffee Shop this self-confessed caffeine addict has been known to visit here for her regular take out coffee fix.

Travelling around Lancashire frequently visiting coffee houses, restaurants, delis and even drive thrus for my coffee addiction I’ve always been impressed by the quality of coffee served in this establishment.

So it was well overdue that I took time out to sit in where I quickly discovered there’s much more the menu has to offer then just coffee.

The Coffee Shop is very welcoming, a well-run place with friendly staff who are keen to please... and with smiling 
faces around you are made to feel special as a customer.

The decor is modern, elegant and stylish with a comfortable seating layout.

A few friends were happily chatting away in the snug, sofa area creating a sociable feel within the calm and 
relaxed atmosphere, there were a 
couple of other small groups at some of the tables and a businessman sat eating lunch while engaged on his laptop. Clearly they cater for everyone here.

One of the daily specials is homemade soup and on the day of my visit was sweet 
potato and red pepper – excellent quality and very tasty.

There’s a large selection of freshly made hot paninis, toasties, salads and sandwiches as well as jacket potatoes, breakfasts, bagels and pastries. Portions are more than substantial, well-presented and favourably priced.

With a selection of home-made cakes and biscuits on display I couldn’t resist the mouth-watering temptation of the carrot cake which looked appetising and tasted delicious.

Satisfied, it was time to leave this cosy establishment but not before ordering a latte to take out. The coffee here is so wonderful one cup is simply not enough

Positioned at the end of Friargate near the Adelphi roundabout, The Coffee Shop is open Monday to Friday 8am till 6pm and whether you’re a coffee fan or not it’s worth a visit.

Samples prices are home-made soup with granary bread and butter £2.50; carrot cake £1.80, regular latte £2.10.

My delicious Italian panini, which is filled with mozzarella, tomato and basil with the option of green pesto, cost a very reasonable £2.90.
