Waterproof accessories retailer, Sealskinz, has analysed the most searched for walking routes in the UK, revealing which are consistently popular amongst the public.
And their research shows 5 of the top 10 walks are within a 90-minute drive of Preston, from the Lake District to North Yorkshire and Derbyshire.

5. Mam Tor
Finishing off the top 5 is this Peak District climb in Derbyshire. Its name means 'mother hill'.
6. Ingleton Falls Trail
The closest of all the walks to Preston at just under an hour, the waterfalls after just over the Lancashire border into North Yorkshire.
7. Brimham Rocks
Back in North Yorkshire, Brimham Rocks is an amazing collection of natural rock formations just to the north of Harrogate.
8. Malvern Hills
In Worcestershire, the view in our picture comes from a day at Cheltenham races. From the highest summit you can see parts of 13 counties on a clear day.
