There's markets galore this weekend! Here's some things to do over the next couple of days

World Day of Prayer

Join Ashton Methodist Church tonight for this year’s World Day of Prayer Service.

The World Day of Prayer is celebrated annually and aims to bring together people of various races and traditions as well as being in closer fellowship, understanding and action throughout the year.

The service for 2020 has been prepared by the Christian women of Zimbabwe, a former British colony which have suffered a great deal in the past and continues to do so and will be led by the participating Churches of Lea, Ashton and Preston.

The service begins at 6.30pm, see www.wwdp.org.uk.

Table Top Sale

New Longton Methodist Church Hall on Chapel Lane is hosting a Table Top Sale tomorrow from 10am until 3pm. As well as lots of bargains there will be a face painter and refreshments available. All proceeds will go to MIND and Cancer Research .

Whist & Dominoes

If your brain cells are in need some exercise, join in with a few games of whist and dominoes, tonight from 7.30pm at the Village Hall on Church Lane in Whitechapel near Goosnargh. Entry is just £3 including tea and biscuits.

Penwortham Farmers Market

Penwortham Farmers Market is held at St Teresa’s Scout Hut, Queensway, on the first Saturday of the month. Find local produce - eggs, cheese, meats, vegetables, fruits, fresh fish, jams, wine, plants, cakes, pies, soaps, crafts - and much much more.

Raising money for the upkeep of the many cats in the care of Lancashire Cat Rescue, there will be a Charity Flea Market at Barton Village Hall, this Sunday, 9am-3pm. You’ll find many interesting stalls, a tombola, refreshments and lots of bargains!
