Chorley Archaeological And Historical Society is appealing for help as they prepare to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War.

They are seeking photographs or information from people in Chorley and would like to record memorials, lists of people who served and other details.

The society wants to record it all and put it online as part of the celebrations for their own diamond anniversary.

Other activities in the milestone year have included a two-day visit to Blenheim Palace and the Pompeii exhibition in London, and a stand at Chorley Town Hall during Chorley Heritage Centre Week.
