A unique sweet, meaty creation will be served up in a Preston chippy to celebrate national doughnut day today.
John and Corrine Clarkson, who run Mister Eaters, Longridge Road, Preston have created a deep fried Spam doughnut.
Corrine said: “Today is national doughnut day so we have cut a doughnut in half, placed a ring of spam in the middle, battered it and deep fried it.
“At first people are a bit sceptical and unsure but everyone who has tried it likes it. It is a mix of sweet and sour, it is the battered equivalent of sweet and sour chicken.”
