And this has culminated in it becoming Preston North End’s official away matchday food supplier, meaning the Lilywhites’ team bus is laden with Health Shack’s signature healthy offerings.

Boss Jonny Esfahan said it was a great contract to win: “It started when some of the players would come in on the way to the station if they were getting the train.

“This season we’re official supplier so we make a batch of our meals for the team coach so the players have access to meals and snacks before and after matches.

“We usually provide up to nine different meals such as our meatball bolognese, salmon and cous cous, fish pie, chicken korma.

“It’s healthy stuff with lots of vegetables.”

The word has even spread to other clubs around the region with players from Blackburn Rovers, Bolton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic also among their customers, Jonny said. The

popularity of Health Shack with elite sports-people and the public alike is a source of pride for the team.

Jonny added: “People said opening a place like this in Preston wouldn’t work.

“But this shows we must be doing something right. We’re local lads and it’s a boost for us.”
