Chef Lisa Goodwin-Allen will cook up a night of fun in Preston for YMCA youngsters

A star chef is to work alongside young people to show them how to cook up three delectable dishes.

The evening will see the youngsters from Fylde Coast YMCA learn from Lisa Goodwin-Allen, executive head chef of Northcote, during an event at Bartle Hall, near Preston .

Yes Chef! is an opportunity for aspiring chefs, who are all on hospitality courses, to learn from some of the best in the industry across the North West.

On the same night - May 3 - youngsters will also be shadowing Michelin-starred chef Simon Rogan at an event at Kendal College, while Simon Shaw, Andrew Green and Adam Reid will be at The Monastery in Manchester.

They will create a set of exclusive culinary experiences for one night only. Food writer and TV presenter Mary Berry is also supporting the event.

Dishes will be served up at the three venues – to support the YMCA Lakeside Project to create anoutdoor activity centre for young people.

The evening will consist of three dishes, along with guest speakers and prizes in a charity raffle. All locations will be linked together digitally to make it a night to remember. Tickets have sold out.

The YMCA Lakeside works to improve and enhance the lives of more than one million children and young people. Bosses hope that their new £6.8m activity centre will develop their facilities so that they can continue to help more young people in the future.
