A retired pensioner has beaten off stiff competition to be included in a new recipe book.

Beryl Stockbridge, a resident of Buckshaw Retirement Village near Chorley is featured in a Recipes For Success book that has been produced by the Hica care group to mark its 20th anniversary.

Her Italian fish stew is among 66 recipes chosen by Hica from hundreds of contributions from staff, service users and their families from Hica care homes, villages and homecare branches.

The Recipes for Success book is on sale at Buckshaw Retirement Village for £5, proving the old adage that ‘charity begins at home’ Hica is giving all profits to its amenity funds to provide additional services and activities for service users.
