Football pitches in parks across Preston remain waterlogged following a deluge of rain in recent weeks.

It is the second week in a row that matches have been called off due to wet weather, with Storms Ciara and Dennis reducing pitches to mud baths.

Park events, including all football matches, were postponed last weekend (February 15 and 16) due to Storm Dennis.

Preston City Council tweeted: "Due to the recent downpours and the weather forecast for the weekend showing more rain, we are sorry to say football on #Preston Parks pitches are cancelled this weekend (22 & 23 Feb)."
