Runner battles record-breaking journey that takes her through Lancashire

An ultra runner pounded the streets through Lancashire on Tuesday as part of a record breaking bid.

Carla Molinaro is attempting to break the record for the fastest run between Lands End and John O’Groat’s.

Super fit Carla passed through Preston on Tuesday morning on a daily leg of her gruelling route.

She needs to run around 70 miles a day to break the current record, which stands at 12 days, 11 hours, six minutes and seven seconds.

She is also a running coach who has represented Great Britain at the 100km World Championships.

Carla said on her blog: “I have the best team possible to help me achieve this and I am super excited to give it my all and push my mind and body further than it has ever gone before.”
