Rotary funds Longridge helpline for those who are worried or lonely during pandemic

A community help group set up to help residents during the Coronavirus lockdown is extending its services - thanks to funding from a local Rotary group.

Help Longridge has announced a new telephone service. Spokesman Andrew Wallbank said: “With funding provided by Longridge and North Preston Rotary we are now able to provide a befriending/buddy service for those residents that are worried and/or lonely during this Coronavirus pandemic.If you would like someone to talk to, give us a call and we will arrange contact with a volunteer befriender. The number to contact is 07552 680591 or email [email protected].”

*Volunteers from Help Longridge will also deliver prescriptions and shopping for the vulnerable and/or isolating. The service can be contacted seven days a week from 8am to 9 pm.
