Four-year-old Phyllisity Ramm has a condition which means she stops breathing about 90 times every night.

Her mum Kylie Purkis, 29, launched the fundraiser to pay for a special machine to monitor Phyllisity’s breathing. It would mean that an alarm would alert Kylie when her daughter needs oxygen or resuscitating.

Speaking after the fun day Kylie, from Astley Village near Chorley, said: “We raised a whooping £1,271 and there’s still more to auction off.

"Just wanted to say a massive, massive thank you to everyone for helping out and to everyone who came.

"It was an amazing day and once again our community pulled together to make it a success. I’ve never felt more proud of our town.”

Phyllisity’s condition is called Central Sleep Apnea. The disorder means that a patient’s breathing repeatedly stops and starts during sleep because the brain doesn’t send proper signals to the muscles that control breathing.

The money means that Kylie can now buy a machine called an Oximeter which will monitor her breathing.

Without the £800 machine Kylie has to stay up all night by Phyllisity’s bedside just incase she stops breathing but having the machine now allows Kylie some sleep, only waking her when Phyllisity’s heart rate or oxygen levels go down.

"We’ve bought the machine,” said Kylie. “Obviously there will always be the ongoing costs of probes but the success of fun day we look forward to future fundraising events.”

The event was held at Astley Village Community Centre.
