Dad thanked for support during cancer treatment
A FATHER-of-three who has been a '˜rock' to his wife while she undergoes breast cancer treatment has been surprised with a special treat.
Paul Bromilow, 50, from Clayton-Le-Woods, was nominated by his wife to win a hamper from Clayton Park Bakery in a competition to find Lancashire’s top dads.
Paul, a process operator at William Blythe, Accrington, was nominated by his wife Kathryn Bromilow, for all his help and support as she battles the disease.
Kathryn was given the devastating news that she had stage three breast cancer in October and since has had an operation to remove part of her right breast and lymphatic system.
Since then she has had five cycles of chemotherapy and has recently finished radiotherapy treatment.
Kathryn, 55, said since her diagnosis, Paul has not only been caring for her, but has also been a huge support to their three children aged 17, 19 and 20.
She used to do a lot of work around the house before she became stuck in bed with a drain in – and so Paul took over all the cooking, cleaning and housework while supporting his wife and children.
Paul said said: “I’ve never won anything before, it means so much to me.
“Though I’m sure I’ve only doing what any husband and father would do in this situation.
“It’s been a very tough time for us all but Kathryn has been amazingly strong and our children have been brilliant too.”
