County asbestos health group to launch online meetings

A county based group helping people affected by asbestos is launching online meetings.

The Cumbria and Lancashire Asbestos Support Advice Group is reopening its meetings to provide both an opportunity of peer support and to show what help and advice is available. Guest speakers include dieticians, complimentary therapists, cancer and palliative care experts.

The online meetings will take place via ZOOM, every third Monday of each month, from 1pm until 3pm starting on June 22.

Anyone living in Cumbria and Lancashire, who has an asbestos related condition, and their carers, are welcome to take part.

Alan Reid, chief executive of Blackpool-based Disability First, said: “This is a terrific opportunity to use technology to help sustain a critical care group, it’s one of our flagship support services and we want to maintain and grow the member numbers.”
