As tighter lockdown restrictions for Lancashire are announced, we look at the latest data released by Public Health England revealing the number of confirmed cases in each area of Preston.

Yesterday, the number and rate of coronavirus cases identified in the city in the space of a week hit a record high for the third day in a row.

The latest Public Health England (PHE) data taken from the Gov.uk website includes lab confirmed positive cases of Covid-19 reported by September 15, 2020 with a specimen date up to September 13, 2020 (week 37).

The number of cases recorded during the last 7 day period in Preston is almost double that of the previous week (week 36) - you can read the full data here.
