CORONAVIRUS: Morecambe's Winter Gardens closed and annual meeting postponed due to coronavirus

The Friends of Morecambe's Winter Gardens have decided to postpone the annual meeting due to take place on March 29 due to the current developments of Covid-19.

A new date will be arranged in due course.

The Friends also announced in their newsletter and on their Facebook page that they will also be keeping the theatre closed for the time being.

Weekend tours will also be postponed for the time being as well.

Friends of the Winter Gardens said: "The future reopening will depend on government advice.

"Like all theatres at present, the Winter Gardens is entering unknown territory.

"Our income is going to be substantially reduced during the period that we are closed for.

"We would be most grateful for any support you are able to give us no matter what the amount.

"Every donation will help us."
