Another 586 Covid cases confirmed in Lancashire as Boris Johnson set to delay lifting of lockdown restrictions in England

The total number of confirmed cases in Lancashire since the beginning of the pandemic now stands at 135,935 as of Saturday, June 12.

There have now been 104,946 confirmed cases in the Lancashire County Council area since the start of the pandemic, according to the latest government data released today (June 11).

Meanwhile, the total across Lancashire, including Blackpool and Blackburn and Darwen, now stands at 135,935.

These are the latest case figures for Lancashire

On Tuesday (June 9), it was announced an increased package of support will be provided to Lancashire and Greater Manchester.

The additional measures, including surge testing, tracing, isolation support and maximising vaccine uptake, are being introduced where high case numbers of the Delta Covid variant have been recorded.

Along with the additional measures, the government also issued new guidance for residents in the Greater Manchester and Lancashire County Council areas.

Public Health England records cases for each council area. The latest totals for each area in Lancashire are:

Blackburn with Darwen - 21,240 (Up from 21,124) +116

Blackpool - 9,749 (Up from 9,697) +52

Burnley - 10,708 (Up from 10,660) +48

Chorley - 8,618 (Up from 8,580) +38

Fylde - 5,042 (Up from 5,034) +8

Hyndburn - 8,771 (Up from 8,727) +44

Lancaster - 9,767 (Up from 9,753) +14

Pendle - 10,262 (Up from 10,215) +47

Preston - 14,887 (Up from 14,822) +65

Ribble Valley - 5,121 (Up from 5,076) +45
