Young Entrepreneurs 2012

The Evening Post has teamed up with Preston College, to find the entrepreneurs of the future! And we have an £500 up for grabs for the winning school!

We are asking students of local secondary schools to show us their potential business acumen and entrepreneurial talent by putting together an enterprise initiative.

The initiative should illustrate their ability to offer a real service or product, market and promote it, and develop it into a potentially profit making venture.

The best efforts will be invited to pitch their idea, in a Dragons’ Den scenario, to our panel of judges. The winning team will pick up a fantastic £500 for their school, plus trophies and gift vouchers for themselves.

Students can choose from a variety of formats for their entries – a PowerPoint presentation, a short video, or simply a letter. Your entry should illustrate your enterprise skills including creative thinking, communication skills, and ability to work as part of a team and setting achievable goals.

Schools wishing to take part should first of all, call us on 01772 838 180 to register (free of charge) or download a registration form from here. Entries should then be submitted via email to [email protected] or by post to:

Young Entrepreneurs of the Year,

LEP, Olivers Place, Fulwood, Preston PR2 9ZA

to reach us Friday November 9. The best ones will be invited to present their initiative to our panel of judges at Preston College on Wednesday November 14, to decide which school will win the prize! Schools’ teams should comprise no more than six students aged between 11 and 16 years of age. Standard competition rules apply.
