It was the culmination of a Parish Council initiated project which had seen every pupil in the school join storytelling and craft sessions to learn more about the village's Millennium Garden, local history and local legends. Our photographer Neil Cross captured the joy of the parade which went from the school, through the Millennium Garden to the recreation ground.

Storyteller Sue Allonby said: "It was absolutely wonderful. It was lovely to have the school coming together, everyone was involved in the parade. "

Parish Clerk Deb Groves said: "It was decided by the Parish Council to devise a project to help village children engage with their heritage and hopefully to take ‘ownership’ of the area which is at the entrance to the Playing Field."

Passers by were surprised by the mobile model - the dog's head turned round from side to side.

The creative arts project aimed to inform the pupils of the history of the village, its folklore and to tell them of their parents’ involvement in creating the Garden.
