The entire junior school, from year six down to the nursery, abandoned traditional routines for a day to concentrate on mathematics.

This involved staff being creative to ensure that the subject was incorporated in their own lessons in a creative way.

The day started with an assembly about the negative thoughts that some pupils have about this subject and how that could be changed.

Art and design technology lessons were filled with wonderful shape work,.

Staff had some Year six children asking to stay in at break to finish off their parabolic curves.

The infants went on a maths trail counting stickers while nursery youngsters made shaped biscuits using triangle, circle and square cutters.

When asked to vote on it, the children gave the day a big thumbs up .
