Staff at a Fylde primary school have been utilising there skills during lockdown to show their young charges that school really can be cool.

Pupils at Lytham Hall Park School may not be able to physically see their teachers and other school staff but, thanks to technology they can now see them in a new light.

Through the ingenuity of teaching assistant Samantha Hills and Katie Ross, the school’s early years lead, everyone associated with the school has joined up, virtually, to take part in a special video. They each put together a short clip from their own homes.

Samantha says: “ The video has been put together to show our children and parents that we are all still connected as a Hall Park family even though we might not see each other due to the current circumstances.

“It features a huge number of our Hall Park staffing team including our headteacher, welfare staff, senior leaders, teaching assistants, teachers, cleaners and site supervisor.”

She added: “All the staff were brilliant and they soon started flooding in.

Katie coordinated all the emails and received the video clips and then forwarded the videos onto me then I put it all together took me about three days but was worth it in the end as we knew this would make the children smile to see us all.

We just wanted to show the children we are still very much a Hall Park family even if this is virtual for the moment. And we will get through this together.

Mrs Hills added: “ The staff enjoyed putting this together to spread the fun and smiles with our school community. The headteacher has been a very ‘busy bee’leading our school through this difficult time.”
