Fleetwood nursery forced to close after positive case of Covid-19
Flakefleet Primary school has had to close its pre-school nursery and infant after-school clubs after it was confirmed that there was a positive case of Covid-19.
The school, on Northfleet Avenue, announced on social media that they would be closing their pre-school nursery, along with their before and after school infant clubs this week after a positive case of Covid-19 was confirmed.
All the families who are affected have been informed by the school and told that they need to isolate until the evening on Sunday, January 17.
The school also apologised for the inconvenience caused to parents but commented that it was 'all about staying safe in these challenging times'.
In a statement to their Facebook page, it said: "There has been a positive case of Covid that affects those who attended our PM nursery and the after-school club last week.
"We've now rung all families who have children who need to isolate until next Sunday. We're very sorry that our full pre-school nursery and before and after-school groups (Infant room only) will now be closed next week.
"We apologise for the obvious inconvenience that this will cause some families but know you understand that it's all about staying safe in these challenging times."
The social media post then received an outpour of comments wishing the children and their families a speedy recovery.
The school then went on to share the official local map of Coronavirus cases for Fleetwood, showing a recent increase in cases.
A statement said: "We all must continue to do what we can to help control the virus.
"Hopefully, if we do, it will mean that the kids will get back into school quicker and we can all go back to a bit more normality sooner."
